From all my years of reading and trying out different diet plans three stand out as the most effective:
- Low Carb
- Weight Watchers
- Gluten Free
Low Carb
Low carb dieting worked amazingly fast and I was able to stick with it for several years. I followed the plan explicitly for the first month and lost 26 pounds by the end of those four weeks. This was instant gratification as far as weight loss which was a huge plus, and it had the benefit of increased and sustained energy.
Weight Watchers
I paid for this one, literally, but only for a short time and it did work fairly well. Almost as fast as low carb, I lost about 10 pounds in a month. The only problem was that I didn’t like paying; so that was the end of that. I am pretty frugal.
Gluten Free
I spent about nine months going gluten free about 80% of the time. At the end of the nine months I lost about 15 pounds. It was relatively painless, i.e. no cravings, but it did lack the immediate and admittedly necessary gratification that I like to think is only part of my children’s era and not mine. Reality is tough, isn’t it?
Thinking SpiteHot
SpiteHot is all about getting healthy and doing what is right for YOU. SpiteHot is about getting healthy in spite of outside influences; setting goals and learning from the past. I am Jane Q. Public. Keeping that in mind:
The NEW SpiteHot Plan:
Lesson ONE: Low carb worked great years ago, but was hard to stick to. So…
Step ONE: Keep carbohydrate grams at 30 or less per day, 5 days per week. The remaining 2 days-eat bread and potatoes!
Lesson TWO: Weight Watchers worked pretty darn good. This is a proprietary points plan with, in my opinion, the best part being that most fruits and vegetables are excused from the point count, e.g. FREE, so…
Step TWO: Eat as many fruits and vegetables as you want, every day, any day. Do NOT add the individual carbohydrate counts of fruits and vegetables after 30 grams have been tallied. Which means, count everything up to 30 grams. After you reach 30 grams, you can eat more fruits and vegetables without adding to the carb count.
Lesson THREE: Gluten Free has been reported to work to lessen inflammation in your body systems. Elimination or reduction of gluten from your diet may reduce inflammation of tissues that can effect a loss in overall weight, so…
Step THREE: Go gluten free five consecutive days, once or twice per month.
